Doctor Bidgoli, ophthalmologist specialized in refractive surgery
Born in Brussels, Dr Bidgoli completed his medical studies at ULB (Université libre de Bruxelles) and obtained his degree in 2010.
He specialized in ophthalmology at Erasme Hospital (Brussels University Hospitals) and at the Rothschild Ophthalmological Foundation in Paris. In 2014, he obtained the title of specialist physician in ophthalmology after earning the European Board of Ophthalmology in Paris.
One year at the Rothschild Ophthalmological Foundation
Dr Bidgoli then further developed his professional expertise in refractive surgery through additional training at the Adolphe de Rothschild Ophthalmological Foundation, under the supervision of Doctor Gatinel (Doctor Damien Gatinel – Ophthalmology).
He also completed a Fellowship at the “VISSUM Instituto Oftalmológico” in Alicante (Spain), in the department of Professor Jorge Alió.
Doctors Gatinel and Alió are experts in refractive surgery and are considered among the one hundred most influential ophthalmologists in the world! (Ophthalmology Power List – Power List (theophthalmologist.com)).
3 years at the Dr Aus der Au Eye Center
Dr Bidgoli worked at the Dr Aus der Au Eye Center in Bern and Fribourg (Switzerland), first as a consultant and then as Deputy Medical Director from 2018 to 2020. There, he gained extensive surgical experience by working alongside Dr Aus der Au, a pioneer of laser surgery in Switzerland (he performed the very first LASIK procedure there in 1994!).

Drawing on his international experience, Dr Bidgoli opened his practice in Uccle in 2021. He is also a consultant at Erasme University Hospital.
Alongside his clinical activity, Dr Bidgoli has written several articles for international ophthalmology journals and has participated as a speaker at conferences on refractive surgery. He has been a lecturer at HEPH and contributes to the training of future ophthalmologists at Erasme Hospital. He regularly collaborates with various medical scientific societies (Scientific Society of General Medicine, Belgian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, etc.) to raise awareness of refractive surgery and to facilitate emergency ophthalmic care.
Dr Bidgoli is primarily specialized in the surgical correction of visual disorders using laser technology and has performed more than two thousand procedures to date.
